Running a club the size of Coogee Beach Surf Lifesaving Club takes significant effort and we rely upon the generosity of volunteers at all levels in giving their time. If everyone pitches in, it doesn’t take much per person to get a big overall contribution. This will take the pressure off the usual contributors and help members get to know each other.
This season, the CBSLSC Board has decided to implement a Volunteer Levy to encourage the urgent need of volunteer assistance to successfully operate the functions of the club.
This Levy will be refunded once a moderate amount of work is completed in the form of a voucher to be spent on merchandise, meals or beverages (excluding Sunday Morning BBQ) at CBSLSC.
The Levy for season 2019/20 has been set at $30.00 per family.
Members can have the Levy refunded by completing a minimum of 5 hours (not necessarily all at once) in the following roles:
- Sunday Morning BBQ
- Friday Night Duty Officer
- Assisting in Bar or Restaurant
- Competition Official
- Busy Bees
- Other Volunteering work deemed appropriate by authorised Club Officers
The Levy is not applicable to following Members:
- Club Officers
- Age Group Managers
- Board Members
- Sponsors more than $500.00
- Active (patrolling) members
Parents of Stingrays, Nippers or Cadets (i.e. Any Member under the Age of 18) can become Family Members of the Club with an appropriate Family Membership Package. Parents can only remain in a Family Membership as long as their child or children is a Stingray, Nipper or Cadet. The Club encourages Parents with a Family Membership to take an active role within the Club by assisting with Age Group Activities and Programs. A Family Membership entitles Parents to use of Club facilities and have all the benefits of a Social Membership, but NOT the use of the gymnasium or Club equipment.
