MEMBERSHIP

Active Senior Members

Active Senior Members are over the age of 18 years who hold the minimum requirement of the Bronze Medallion. Active Members duties range from Patrols on the beach, water safety for community events and much more. Members in this category can progress to more advanced levels of Awards.

Prospective Active Senior Members must complete their Surf Lifesaving Bronze Medallion. The Club only approves new Active Senior Membership applications once the Member has confirmed their availability and have signed up to the next available Bronze Medallion Course.
Active Cadets who turn 18 and who hold their SLS Bronze Medallion, automatically become Active Senior Members of the Club.

Active Senior Members are required to:

  • Pay the annual membership fee to remain a financial member of the Club.
  • Hold the relevant award (Bronze Medallion) and complete the annual skills maintenance and proficiency testing (Requalification) for this award in October/November of each year.
  • Complete a minimum of 20 hours of patrols per season.
  • Active Senior Members are encouraged to:
  • Further their lifesaving skills by gaining higher awards such as ARTC, Spinal Management and IRB Crew/Driver
  • Experienced Patrol Members with good leadership skills are encouraged to become Patrol Captains.
  • Be involved in different areas of the Club by becoming involved in leadership groups.
  • Be active in Surf Sport Competition at Club, Inter-Club, State and National levels.

ACTIVE RESERVE

Active Reserve Members are Senior Members of the Club who no longer actively Patrol on a regular basis.

Active Reserve Members are required to:

  • Pay the annual membership fee to remain a financial member of the Club.
  • Hold the relevant award (Bronze Medallion) and complete the annual skills maintenance and proficiency testing (Requalification) for this award in October/November of each year.

Complete a minimum of 12 hours of Patrols per season on any Patrol.
